SmartCara is just one button press, there is no easier way to handle your actual amount of waste. Outdoor composting can be difficult. It requires a lot of space and is time-consuming, and you need to know how to create appropriate composting environment. Therefore, SmartCara presents an easier way for you to go green.

Put food waste in equipment's container

After plugging in the power supply, place the food waste in the container and make sure it is not higher than the maximum fill line recommended inside the container. When the lid is closed and locked, the equipment will go into STORAGE mode, in which food waste is disposed of gradually and can be stored for up to 3 days without odor.

Start the recycling process with just a touch

When the container has filled up to the maximum fill line inside the container, close and lock the lid then press the power button. At this time, SmartCara will automatically recycle through 3 processes: DRYING - GRINDING - COOLING in combination with deodorization. The equipment will complete the food waste recycling process in 5-7 hours.

Installment payment via credit card refers to customers buying and paying with credit cards of banks via mPOS card-accepting devices. After successful purchase, the amount the cardholder has to pay to the bank is divided monthly into small portions according to the term from 3 months to 1 year.

mPOS (as known as Mobile Point of Sale) is a type of card payment acceptance machine, allowing the merchant to use a Smartphone and an accompanying payment device to accept the card and proceed payment for goods and services for customers.

In addition, the registration procedure is also very simple, the application review time is fast, so you do not have to wait long.

You need a credit card with a VISA or MASTER CARD to make installment payments.

ECO Vietnam applies the direct installment program via mPOS in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Other provinces and cities will be instructed to pay online by entering credit card information via the link.

Customer does not have to pay interest for the installment program, however, Customer will need to pay an additional CONVERT PAYMENT FEE. Installment conversion fee ranges from: 2% -8.9% depending on the bank and the term (3-6-9-12 months) that the customer chooses to pay in installments.

  • For customers in Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh, our delivery staff will install the machine and provide detailed instructions on how to use. For customers in the province area, we will send a detailed instruction link on how to start and use the machine when received.
  • Remove all packaging and stickers, except for the sticker in the container with the indication of the maximum fill line.
  • After that, check the equipment and the power cord. In case of damages, DO NOT use the machine and return it to our sales point immediately.
  • Check that the AC power source corresponds with the voltage indicated on the equipment.

Principle of operation:

SmartCara equipment operates following the process of “Drying – Crushing – Cooling” combined with “Deodorizing” for 5-7 hours. The finished product is dry and odorless organic nutrients.

SmartCara machine has 3 functions:


If there is little dispose of food waste after a meal (less than the maximum fill line inside the container), the machine can still be plugged in (do not press START or Power button). When there is enough food waste in the next meal (up to the maximum fill line inside the container), you can start the recycle process by pressing the START or Power button.

The storage function is very low in energy consumption, can be stored for up to 3 days without odor, and food waste is also partially handled during this time. Please refer to the STORAGE function by following the video link below.


  • Place food waste in a container, no higher than the recommended maximum fill line inside the container, and close the lid by turning it to The LED will light up.
  • Gently press START/STOP (for PCS-400 model) or Power button (PCS-500D model) for a few seconds to initiate the recycling process. The machine will notify that the food waste recycling process is operating and the light will come on at the first Drying cycle.
  • The food waste recycling process lasts from 5-7 hours, depending on the volume and type of waste, the light will come on at the START/STOP when complete (for PCS-400 model) or Power button (for model PCS-400) model PCS-500D).
  • When the process is complete, the machine will automatically switch to Standby.
  • Once the food waste recycling process is complete, you can use the finished product as a dry organic nutrient to fertilize your plants or store it for a long time without any odor.


SmartCara has a built-in self-cleaning function (Cleansing). Pour water up to 1/2 of the container, then close the lid and press Cleansing. The cleaning process will be complete in 1 hour. You can add orange / tangerine / grapefruit peel to deodorize and clean the filter.

It is recommended to run this self-cleaning mode at least 2-3 times a week or when needed.

Manual cleaning:

  • Remove the container out of the equipment.
  • Clean the container in warm soap water with a soft brush or sponge. Do not use metal or sharp objects, or abrasive and hard brushes for cleaning as these can damage the surface.
  • Clean the gears on the bottom of the container with a damp cloth and dry well. Place the container back into the equipment after cleaning.


  • Fill half of the container with water, do not add any detergent.
  • Close the machine lid.
  • Press the Cleansing button.
  • Self-cleaning mode starts after a beep sound. Three function buttons will light up and show a start signal. The cleaning will end in about 1 hour, at this time all the display lights are off.
  • Use the leftover water in the container to water the plants and dry the container with a soft cloth.
  • Clean the gear on the bottom of the container.

YES: vegetables, lettuce, cabbage, bread, baked, steamed and fried food, dried fruit, berries, fruit, eggs (with or without shell), poultry, thin chicken bones, all kinds of meat, coffee grounds and tealeaves/bags, fish and seafood (e.g. lobster, crab, ...), all food waste

NO: non-food (e.g. stones, metal, glass, plastic, ...), large bones (e.g. côte à l`os, cutlet, ...), cardboard and hard paper, other hard objects, live animals and insects, seeds (e.g. nectarines, peaches, avocados, mangos, plums, ...), shells of mussels, oysters, snails, etc.

CAUTION: Sift liquids from products, e.g. fruit juice, before putting them in the bucket. The drier the products, the shorter the reducing process.

It is also best to avoid as much food waste as possible that contains a lot of oil, carbohydrates and/or sugar. It is best to mix this with other types of residual waste.

The Total Power consumption of the equipment in one recycling (from 5-7 hours) is as follows:

PCS-400: average 0.7-1.0 kW (0.7 - 1 electric numbers)

PCS-500D: average 1.5-2.0 kW (1.5 - 2 electric numbers)

All equipments are integrated with a multi-point sensor to monitor the required drying time, avoiding unnecessary energy consumption. Please refer to the video of power measurement when the machine is in operation below.

No, the device makes very little noise, +/- 38 dB, which is comparable to soft whispers. This sound level is also called whisper quiet.

If the device makes a lot of noise, it is best to contact your dealer or service center.

The average food waste recycling process is about 5 to 7 hours depending on the volume and type of food waste. If the food waste is dry and has been chopped off (such as chopped vegetables, fruit peels, etc.), the recycling process will be faster.

The quantity and type of residual waste determines whether the residual waste processing time will be longer or shorter.

No, the food waste reducing process automatically goes through each phase from the moment you press the on/off button to start the reducing process. The LED illumination on the display indicates in which phase the appliance is located. Therefore you cannot press the Drying or Grinding function.

The appliance can process chicken bones and fish bones to a limited extent. Large knuckles or bones, such as côte à l`os or chop cannot be processed. These cause irreversible damage to the appliance, will block the appliance and may even destroy it completely.

No, the appliance can not process non-food (e.g. glass, metal, stones) and hard residual waste (e.g. seeds from nectarines, plums, mangos, etc.). These will cause irrevocable damage to the appliance, will block it and may even destroy it completely.

Residual waste can be added as soon as the process has already started, but this is strongly discouraged. Adding residual waste interrupts the reducing process, so that the final residue will not be 100% dried. In addition, the appliance becomes very hot during the processing, which can pose a risk of burns.

You can turn off the unit when it is (partially) filled. In that case, however, the contents will gradually decompose and an odour will spread. This action is strongly discouraged.

The lid must remain closed during processing. When you open the lid, the processing will be interrupted and you will have to start it again manually, so that the final residue will not be 100% dried. In addition, the appliance becomes very hot during the processing, which can cause a risk of burns.

During the Recycling process, after the food waste has been dried and grinded, the machine will move on to the “Cooling” stage. During this phase, the machine consumes little power, but remains warm until finished product has cooled down completely. Do not open the lid under any circumstances because it may cause the risk of burns.

The self-cleansing function can be started any number of times.

To use the self- cleansing function, it is best to fill the container half way with water, without detergents or vinegar. During self- cleansing, the device reaches a temperature of more than 100°C, so it starts to vapour and evaporate. If there is too little water in the bucket, it may boil dry and the self- cleansing will not run properly.

The end result is a dry odorless residue, you can add to the soil to increase nutrients to help the Plant grow better or store it for a long time and use it later.

No, the end result depends on the type of residual waste. Fish or cooked vegetables will be processed into a dry, fine and powdery matter, while uncooked vegetables will rather be processed into a breakfast cereal-like matter. Cake, rice and starchy residual waste will result in a thicker, crumbly matter.

Attention: Drain aqueous, sugary substances, e.g. fruit, into a sieve as much as possible before putting them in the bucket. The drier the substances, the shorter the reducing process and the finer the residue.

The processing process takes place at a high temperature, after the end of the process the end result can still feel warm to the touch. Even after the cooling phase, the residue can still feel warm to the touch.

Open the lid and press the self- cleansing button together with the on/off button for ± 5 seconds. Both buttons will blink. Then press the self- cleansing button until you hear the desired language, confirm with the on/off button.

The audio guidance function verbally indicates the stage of the processing and any abnormalities. This function is always activated by default when the device is purchased.

Follow the steps below to disable the audio guidance function:

  • Open the lid and press the self-cleaning button for ± 5 seconds. The deactivation of the function is confirmed verbally: "Voice assistance deactivated". Attention: If the audio guidance function is deactivated, any abnormalities will still be announced verbally.
  • Repeat this step to reactivate this function.

CAUTION! Even if you deactivate the voice assistance, the appliance will always verbally communicate an error code.

SmartCara Platinum PCS350 does not use a bacterial culture.
It dries, grinds and cools without the addition of any substance.

To turn off the appliance by hand when not in use it suffices to press the on/off button  on the display for ± 7 seconds. Two beeps will sound and the LED light goes out. To activate the appliance it suffices to push the on/off button shortly. The LED light will burn.

When the container contains food waste, as the machine is plugged in and the lid is locked, it will be in Storage mode (do not press the START or Power button). As a result, food waste will not be rotten and still be partially handled. Additional food waste can be added to the container while in Storage mode.

NOTE: If you only leave the fruit waste in Storage for a few days, it will become caramelized and dry, causing the motor shaft to clog during processing.


The filter cover at the back of the appliance can be disassembled by gently pressing the cover at the top of the lid and then pulling out the lid.

The filter replacement period differs for each model according to the manufacturer, ranging from 2-5 months. However, the time it takes to replace the filter depends on:

1/ The type of food waste and its amount of odors.

2/ The frequency of the use of the machine.

If the food waste that needs to be recycled has odors and that you use the machine continuously, the replacement time for the filter will be shorter. In addition, when the filter is no longer able to eliminate odors completely, whether you choose to replace or not replace the filter, it will not affect the operation of the machine. However, it will cause a slight odor affecting your living atmosphere.

The main function of the filter is Deodorizing during the recycling process, so when the filter reaches the end of its life, you will notice a slight sour smell emitted when the machine is in operation. From that point on, the filter is no longer in good condition and should be replaced. You can purchase filters via Hotline 0782.118.226

Instructions on filter replacement:

  • Open the filter cover on the top (PCS-400 model) or rear filter cover (PCS-500D model) and remove the old filter in use.
  • Remove the protective plastic film of the new filter.
  • Place the new filter in the correct direction and reattach the filter air vent lid (for model PCS-500D).
  • Close the filter cover.

If the filters are kept in a non-humid environment with the stickers on both sides or with wrapped film, they can be kept for at least 2 years.
If the sticker(s) or film has been removed, the shelf life of the filter(s) can no longer be guaranteed.

There are three types of carbon in the filters to filter the odour of the food waste.

If you only place fruit and leave it in storage for several days, the fruit will caramelize and the rotor may get stuck during the process! You can prevent this by putting a mixture of different kinds of products in SmartCara Platinum PCS350, especially fruit waste, vegetable waste, fish, meat, chicken, food waste,...

Put very hot water in the bucket and leave to soak for a few hours, so that the cake comes loose and you can remove it systematically; if necessary, repeat the procedure several times until the whole cake has been removed.

  • The warranty period is 18 months. The warranty only applies on presentation of a valid proof of purchase and if the product has been used correctly. Normal wear and tear (e.g. on the bucket) is not covered by the warranty.
  • Your warranty starts on the day of purchase. The warranty lasts 18 months.

Determination of warranty:

  • The warranty covers every repair and/or replacement free of charge of the parts recognized defective by our after-sales service if the damage is due to faulty design, material or construction. The warranty does not cover damage or normal wear of the components.
  • The warranty is only valid for the original user with original purchase invoice.
  • The transport costs are at the expense of the purchaser.  
  • The warranty cannot be invoked for normal wear, such as scratches and damages to the container.

The warranty expires automatically in the following cases:

  • Incorrect connection, e.g. electric voltages.
  • Abnormal or professional use or misuse handling
  • Lack of care and cleaning
  • Modifications or repairs made to the appliance by persons not authorized by us as a manufacturer.
  • When reference numbers have been altered, or been removed.
  • When not respecting the instructions in the user instructions.

After a period of use, the coating on the inside of the container can be scratched or damaged, or even peeled. This is normal wear and tear and it does not affect the operation of the equipment. You can purchase container replacement via Hotline 0782.118.226

Normal wear and tear of the container, such as scratches and peelings are not covered by the warranty.

  • In case of an error message, the audio guidance function will display this message verbally, even if you have selected Mute. If you were not near the appliance and did not hear the error message, the combination of flashing LEDs will show that a problem was detected and you can have the unit repeat the message. To do so, briefly press the on/off button .
  • Check the User Manual for some common errors.

When the filter has reached the end of its life, or when it is not placed correctly, the machine will emit a slight sour smell. From that point on, the filter is no longer in good condition and should be replaced as soon as possible.

Be cautious when dealing with blocked motor shaft. This is not easy, you can pour hot water into the container and let it sit for a while, then check the status of the spindle (you can pour in hot water 2-3 times so that the finished products stuck onto the spindle can expand/unfold). If you have repeated the process 2-3 times and the spindle is still blocked, please contact our Technical Hotline for support at 0782.118.227

When the equipment is used for the first time, it may emit a slight smell of the new filter. This is normal. The smell is only temporary and will disappear soon.

The activated carbon filter(s) ensures that no odours are emitted during the Recycling process. When the filter(s) is saturated, the machine will emit a sour smell. From that point on, it is no longer in good condition and should be replaced as soon as possible.
